Flash Drive Direct Manufacturer Partners with Pantone to Make Color Matching of Aluminum Flash Drives Possible

Vancouver, WA, February 15, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Known as a design specialist, FDD (a division of Blue Loyal) partnered their manufacturing plant with Pantone to make accurate color matching of their aluminum flash drives now possible. The Flash Drive designer and innovator has created a whole new method to color co-ordinate the promotional flash drive by utilizing the Pantone color matching system.

John Graham of Flash Drive Direct states “we have had a number of inquiries as to the possibility of coloring the aluminum of the flash drive housing so that it could be laser etched or to perfect match it to a customer’s corporate color. The factories new Pantone color matching system now allows for accurate color matches of nearly 20 of our styles in over 20 colors”.

The 16 Billion dollar promotional products industry has taken a huge interest in flash drives. Last year alone, the nearly 70,000 North American promotional products distributors sold more flash drives than Staples, Best Buy and Wal-Mart combined. In 2007, Flash Drives were the 10th most popular promotional business tool up from 87th place in 2006. The average memory size sold sky rocketed from 256 MB to 1 GB.

The volatility in flash drive prices of the last summer have now been replaced by significantly lower flash prices especially in the 1 GB and up memory sizes, while the smaller memory sizes have remained costly and are being phased out.

“We see the flash drive markets as one that is growing not only in dollars sold but in the consumer’s desire for larger memory and for more variety in design. Henceforth this ability to match Pantone colors to aluminum housings is a great design step forward.” Says John Graham.

Flash Drive Direct has offices in both Canada and the U.S.
