A Bike That Grows (Almost) as Fast as Your Child: Kickstarter Launched for Race Kids Mountain Bike by Downtube.com

Greensboro, NC, August 16, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Kids grow fast. Shouldn’t their bicycles too?

The answer to that question comes in the form of the Race Kids Mountain Bike, the latest brainchild from Greensboro, N.C. designer Yan Lyansky of downtube.com. The company, which made its mark as a folding bike company, is now expanding into the children’s bicycle market and has just launched a Kickstarter campaign for a new kid and wallet-friendly design.

In addition to adjustable seat height, the Race Kids Mountain Bike also features an adjustable stem that raises the handlebars by a little over three inches. "That can make a huge difference, not only to the user but to parents too," says Lyansky, himself a father of three young children.

“Typically a child’s bike only has twelve, or at most, eighteen months of useful life before it’s outgrown. Our Race Kids Mountain Bike more than doubles that lifespan, giving kids ample time to wear out the treads on their tires before having to move on to a larger model,” he says.

The versatility doesn’t stop there. The Race Kids Mountain Bike comes standard with rugged-terrain tires. Yet with its lightweight aluminum frame and wheel hub features that enable a quick flip from mountain to racing mode, the Race Kids Mountain Bike, true to its name, is also built with speed in mind. It is available in 20 and 24 inch models.

Starting at $199, the Race Kids Mountain Bike is far more affordable than other children's bicycles in its class and is of higher quality. To find out more, a full menu of features can be found on the company website, www.downtube.com.

Lyansky, who got his start in the industry by designing folding bicycles for commuters, was inspired to design an affordable kids bike after his disappointing results from shopping for his own children. “The products I found were of very poor quality, or came at a very steep price,” he said.

The Race Kids Mountain Bike is available now through a Kickstarter campaign at http://kck.st/2hRkhKz. Shipping is expected when the campaign ends on Sunday, September 10, 2017.

Downtube.com was established in March of 1996 by Yan Lyansky, Ph.D. It has evolved into one of the largest folding bike designers and manufacturers. The company’s goal is to make comfortable folding bikes and sell them directly to customers to maximize value.

All bicycles are designed, tested, imported and distributed directly to the end customer, allowing them to be sold for 60-70% less than competitors. Its products have been featured in Boating Magazine, Bicycling, Trailer Life and O, The Oprah Magazine.
