Lemoyne-Owen College Awarded $20,000 Grant by Campus Consortium to Provide Their Students, Faculty and Staff to Implement After Hours IT Helpdesk Services

Memphis, TN, August 26, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Campus Consortium awarded the After Hours IT Helpdesk Grant to LeMoyne-Owen College in Memphis. The $20,000 grant will help the private historically black college implement the After Hours IT Help Desk, an essential part of any successful institution's IT infrastructure.

“Most colleges like ours that offer online courses need to include an After Hours Help Desk so students can work day jobs, or care for family members and tackle their course work at odd hours. We had noticed that this was one such popular option that was even desired by the on-campus students who actively opted to take a portion of their classes online, to free up time for other activities by choosing when to attend class,” said Dwayne Cable, Vice President, Information Technology, LeMoyne-Owen College. “This Grant has broadened our scope since we realized how crucial an IT support is irrespective of the time of the day and we are pleased to have Campus Consortium to help us achieve our goal.”

LeMoyne-Owen will use the grant to acquire the BlackbeltHelp® services to provide After Hours IT Helpdesk support related to login issues, password reset, network connectivity, productivity applications, antivirus, security utilities, email, basic operating system support and much more.

"We realize it takes extraordinary effort and financial resources to initiate, set up and implement a Help Desk solution. Our purpose was to begin an initiative to benefit institutions with exceptionally sound IT infrastructures. Taking that and many other factors into account, the Grant Committee at Campus Consortium is proud to award LeMoyne-Owen College the After Hours IT Helpdesk Grant," said Anjli Jain, Chairman, Campus Consortium.
