Renowned addiction and eating disorder psychiatrist Dr. Steve Karp joins Breathe Life Healing Center as Chief Medical Officer on September 11th. Dr. Karp reunites with CEO Deb Hughes, who together built the Rosewood Eating Disorder Centers system.

Enormously skilled at treating patients struggling with eating disorders, substance use, and mental health needs, Dr. Karp brings an unmatched depth of experience and judgement to his work.

Dr. Karp graduated Cum Laude from Delaware Valley College of Science and Agriculture, then attended medical school at the prestigious Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Karp completed his internship in Philadelphia then continued with residency in Psychiatry at Norristown State Hospital. Formerly Chief Medical Officer at Palm Beach Institute, Dr. Karp spent ten years directing psychiatry and medical care at Rosewood Centers for Eating Disorders in Wickenburg, Arizona alongside Breathe CEO Deb Hughes. Dr. Karp holds a sub-speciality in Addiction Psychiatry through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
