)-- The International Public Safety Association, a 501(c)3 non-profit is pleased to announce its Board of Directors reappointed its Treasurer, Captain J. Scott Quirarte with Ventura County Fire Department, to another term. Quirarte was originally appointed to the position of Treasurer in 2015.
Quirarte continues to go above and beyond in supporting the IPSA’s mission. In addition to his role as Treasurer, he is continually getting involved with other aspects of the association. Executive Director Heather R. Cotter has referred to Quirarte as an IPSA model member, and he’s been the IPSA’s monthly Featured Member twice (August 2015 and June 2017) since the program started.
The Treasurer is responsible for financial oversight of the IPSA. This includes developing the annual operating budget, reviewing monthly financial activity and reporting out to the Board of Directors the current financial status of the IPSA at all meetings. In addition, the Treasurer is responsible for assessing the financial impact any new programs or activities might have on the IPSA.
