Miniature Sculptures Return to Chicago This Fall

After hosting the World Model Expo 2017 in July, the Chicago area will once again be hosting an event featuring many artists and their examples of miniature sculptures ranging from figures, ships, vehicles airplanes, dioramas and more along with the vendors who supply the kits, paints, brushes, books and other materials to create these pieces of art.

Schaumburg, IL, September 09, 2017 --(PR.com)-- The annual MMSI Chicago Show will be held October 13-15, 2017 at the Chicago Marriott Schaumburg located at 50 N Martingale Road, Schaumburg, IL 60173 and will host artists and enthusiasts interested in miniature sculptures from all periods of history, movies, pop culture, sci-fi and more.

Those interested in staying at the hotel for the run of the show are encouraged to book their rooms soon to take advantage of the MMSI’s special rate of $103 per night. The hotel can be reached by calling 847-240-0100 or visiting their website and asking for the MMSI rate.

Online registration is open now for those who want to display their work. The fee is $15 in advance for MMSI members. For those in the Chicagoland area, the MMSI’s (Military Miniature Society of Illinois) the first fall meeting after its summer hiatus was held on Friday, September 8, 2017 at the Oakton Community College in Des Plaines in Room 1604. Noted Civil War expert Rob Girardi presented a program on the murder of Civil War General William “Bull” Nelson. Future meetings will be held on the first Friday of the month at Oakton Community College in Des Plaines.
