Poetry Collection "Rain & Other Mellow Things" Wins New Apple E-Book Award for Excellence in Independent Publishing

Book Synopsis
"Rain & Other Mellow Things" is a compilation of poetry and prose ranging from issues of equality to emotions and simple thought. A teenage author brings a different and less talked about perspective and almost a touch of innocence to topics that are seemingly uncomfortable for the new generation to discuss. "Rain & other Mellow Things" is a collection of thoughts and encourages interpretation by the reader, in order to create much needed conversation about what concerns our world and our people today.

About the Author
Nisha Singh has expressed a love for the written word from a very young age, writing and illustrating short children’s books and competing in student competitions. "Rain & Other Mellow Things" is her first book to be published. Nisha Singh is fifteen years old and is currently a sophomore in high school. She has lived most of her life in Dallas, Texas, but enjoys international travel and visiting her grandparents in India, from where she originates. She loves spending time with her family, reading, blogging on current issues, and musical theatre.

About the New Apple Book Awards
The New Apple Summer E-Book Awards for Excellence in Independent Publishing was established to honor the creative achievements of the unsung books fighting for their place within the digital publishing world. Any English language e-book published within the last three years, currently available for sale by an independent author or small press that met the Awards' guidelines was eligible for entry. One book was chosen in each category as the solo Medalist Winner receiving the highest honors. In addition, the judges were permitted to choose up to three Official Selections for category distinction.
