Westminster Presbyterian Church to Host Fall Festival and Blessing of the Pets

Oct. 7 community fall festival to feature blessing of the pets, pet supply drive for the Humane Society of South Mississippi, and free food, games and music for all ages.

Gulfport, MS, September 27, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Westminster Presbyterian Church will host its annual Community Fall Festival on October 7 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Bayou View Park, located near the intersection of Lawson Avenue and 50th Street in Gulfport’s Bayou View neighborhood.

Participants for the first time this year will be able to bring their pets - properly leashed or caged - for a special “Blessing of the Pets” at 3 p.m. In conjunction with this new festival highlight, members of Gulfport’s Girl Scout Troop 3542 will host a friendly competition among local elementary schools to encourage donations of pet supplies at the festival for the Humane Society of South Mississippi. This collection is not sponsored by any particular school or district.

The festival will also include such old-fashioned, family-oriented features as a cupcake walk, food, face painting, hay rides, inflatable slides and children’s games.

The entire festival is free and open to the public.
