)-- Big Noise and The Stadium Theatre are proud to announce a Commemoration Ceremony with Louis Prima Jr., honoring his music legend father and the 50th Anniversary of his father's classic Walt Disney film "The Jungle Book."
The event happens on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 1:30 pm at The Stadium Theatre, 28 Monument Square in Woonsocket, RI.
Louis Prima Jr. will be performing at The Stadium Theatre on the exact date of the 50th Anniversary of "The Jungle Book's" premiere screening weekends in Rhode Island, and which was shown at The Stadium Theatre that very first weekend in 1967.
Al Gomes of Big Noise and Cathy Levesque of The Stadium Theatre will present a plaque to Louis Jr. honoring this milestone and anniversary in his father's career, and Louis Prima Sr. having played such a huge part of "The Jungle Book's" phenomenal international success.
It was the last film that Walt Disney produced before his passing in 1967, and the film has grossed $205.8 million since its release 50 years ago.
The plaque presentation will be made during the show, and then Louis Jr. and his band will follow with a rare live performance of "I Wan'na Be Like You" from the Disney film.
Big Noise and The Stadium Theatre are honored that Louis Jr. will be performing in the same theatre on the exact same weekend 50 years later of this classic film's introduction to Rhode Island audiences.
This is the third Rhode Island Music History Commemoration for Big Noise in the last three months. Recently, Al Gomes and partner Connie Watrous commemorated the 40th Anniversary of the largest concert attendance ever in the State of Rhode Island - The Beach Boys at the Narragansett Park Race Track in the summer of 1977. The pair were successful in getting the street where the 1977 concert stage stood forever renamed as "Beach Boys Way" at 455 Narragansett Park Drive in Pawtucket, RI.
