Golden, CO, February 24, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Elizabeth Bublitz, author of "Pawfriendly Landscapes - How to Share the Turf When Your Backyard Belongs to Barney," will lecture with a book signing to follow, on April 26 at Bath Garden Center & Nursery, 2000 E. Prospect Rd. Fort Collins, CO 80525 at 11 am. Ms. Bublitz' lecture will include a power point presentation about how to create pet friendly yards for do it yourselfers as well as landscape professionals. Ms. Bublitz is the owner and creator of Pawfriendly Landscapes and offers pet friendly landscape designs throughout the nation.

Ms. Bublitz is a pioneer in creating pet friendly yards and started her company in 1998. She says, "When I started my company we got the call, 'what do you mean you do pet friendly landscapes,' now everyone gets it and they call to tell me their dog ate their yard. In fact, some people call and ask if they have to own a pet for us to come out. I think it's great people have evolved and 'just get it,' they take animals seriously and consider them a huge part of the family." She continues by saying, "in fact, nobody ever called us for their children. When we started, we stated we were child and pet friendly but dropped the word child because everybody called about their dogs. Occasionally we get a call about cats but it's mainly a dog's world."

A Colorado native and graduate from the University of Colorado, Ms. Bublitz started her pet friendly landscape company in Colorado but now offers landscape designs nationally, even internationally due to popular demand. She explains, "we changed our name from Home & Garden Landscapes to Pawfriendly Landscapes when a writer named Debbie McClung contacted me from Lowe's and offered to feature my company because we were the only pet friendly landscape company she could find in the nation! I was so flattered," she continues, "I wanted to be featured in Lowe's for Pro's but needed to trademark my name and Home & Garden wouldn't trademark. My staff and I came up with the name Pawfriendly, actually it was our fifth choice, and it trademarked! Although I didn't want to change my company's name, it's been great because now the new name really fits our niche so it was an unexpected blessing."

Pawfriendly Landscapes is celebrating its tenth anniversary and Ms. Bublitz is delighted her book is released during this milestone. "The timing was perfect and completely accidental - I'm delighted to celebrate my tenth anniversary and my first book release! I can't wait to get started on my next one!" Ms. Bublitz will be doing a book tour around Colorado, for more information, go to www.pawfriendlylandscapes.com
