Wendt Gallery to Showcase Artists Ron Kent and Jeffrey Hein at Architectural Digest - "Home Design Show"

Wendt Gallery is proud to announce that it will be showcasing Artists Ron Kent and Jeffrey Hein at the Architectural Digest - "Home Design Show," March 6 - 9, 2008, at Pier 94 in New York City, NY.

New York, NY, February 26, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Artist Ron Kent is renowned for his Norfolk Pine wood vessels. These magnificent hand-turned bowels are found in numerous museum and private collections including: The Louvre, Smithsonian, MOMA, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Museum of Fine Arts Boston, The White house Collection, The Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Vatican Collection and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

Ron Kent’s most recent creations - "The Guardian Series" will be on exhibit alongside his turned wood vessels. These freestanding wood composite sculptures stand up to 7’ tall and are truly unique works of art. Constructed form various types of plywood, panel or board, these towering forms are captivating at first glance.

Since he never took a single woodworking lesson, Kent says he "never learned the ‘right’ way to do things… I sort of evolved a lot of unique ways of working, which nobody else does".

New York born Jeffrey Hein is a Contemporary realism artist whose paintings seek to show a relevance and harmony between both classical and abstract art in the modern world. The goal to create a true “Modern Portrait” is a strong motivating force for Hein. His work is clearly a commentary on the current state of 21st Century painting and the state of humanity within the Modern Culture.

Hein’s portraits gesture towards the juxtaposition of the naturalist truths of traditional art and the untruths of modern art driven by our current technological age. Once the viewer moves beyond the elements of pop art imagery coupled with classical technique, the questions is then left for society to rethink its attitudes of polarizing classical and modern art.

Jeffrey Hein’s work seeks to redefine the sum of these ideas into a an entirely new approach towards art, as a candid view of the organic and non-organic elements which now define modern and contemporary life as we know it today.

Wendt Gallery will be exhibiting at booth #359 at the Architectural Digest "Home Design Show", March 6 - 9, 2008. The show is open to the public, and is located at: Pier 94, 12th Ave. at 55th St., New York City. For more show information please visit the show website at: www.archdigesthomeshow.com/.
