Tigard, OR, December 20, 2017 --(PR.com)-- World’s First Dog Tap House Set to Open in Tigard, OR

A new year brings in new business in Tigard, Oregon. Fido’s – “The World’s First Dog Tap House” is set to open in February 2018. Fido’s brings to the beer scene a new concept never seen before. Fido’s merges foster housing for shelter dogs with craft beer. Patrons will be able to drink craft beer while playing with shelter dogs, with the goal of rehoming these dogs to loving owners.

“I got the idea after visiting Purrington’s Cat Café,” comments owner Scott Porter. “Cats and coffee are cool, but shelter dogs in a tap room! That would be incredible.” In addition to beer and shelter dogs, Fido’s will donate a portion of profits to local rescue charities to help them tackle the national shelter dog challenge. According to the SPCA, about 670,000 dogs are euthanized annually due to overpopulation. That’s over 12,000 per week. Area nonprofits spend so much of their time fundraising, which takes away their capacity to rehome shelter dogs. This prompted Porter to promote and support charities that are tackling the homelessness issue for our furry friends. It is Fido’s goal to become the premier corporate donor in the United States.

Fido’s will open its doors to the public in February 2018. They are ramping up by scheduling dog-related events, getting their large outdoor patio prepped and ready for the dogs and customers, and of course, bringing in craft beer from the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Fido’s is a family friendly establishment. Kids are welcome, and puppy pals are encouraged on the patio. The patio will also be used for dog demonstrations, art shows, book signings, and more.

If you are a 501c3 dog shelter and want to be on the roster for charitable giving, contact owner, Scott Porter. Events are also being planned. Any dog related events such as seminars, dog-themed artists, DIY dog bone makers and other dog enthusiasts are encouraged to reach out to explore promotional opportunities.
