Goudhurst, United Kingdom, December 24, 2017 --(PR.com)-- · Kent based tax specialists raise money for Prostate Cancer UK

· Prostate cancer diagnosis fuelled fundraising efforts

· Movember aims to reduce premature deaths among men by 25%

Employees at Kent-based tax specialists, Charter Tax, have shown their support for this year’s Movember, with 10 team members giving up the razors and growing weird and wonderful moustaches to aid their chosen charity Prostate Cancer UK.

The decision to support the cause was taken following a member of staff’s diagnosis with prostate cancer. Two younger employees chose to show him support by taking part in the event, and other male members of the firm followed suit.

Mark Howard, chairman of Charter Tax said “Charter Tax was pleased to take part in Movember and delighted to raise almost £3,000 for Prostate Cancer UK. The variety of moustaches produced in 30 days was truly astonishing. '1st December could not come fast enough.' Mark Howard (now completely clean-shaven) was heard to exclaim. Our thoughts now turn to our colleague and we all wish him a safe and swift return to the office in the New Year.”

Movember is an annual event that involves the growing of moustaches, among other activities, to raise awareness of men’s health issues including prostate cancer, testicular cancer and men’s suicide. The charity aims to reduce the number of premature deaths among men by 25% in the next 12 years.

Many workplaces across the UK hold competitions for the best "mo" as a way of encouraging staff to take part. Charter Tax’s own vote for the best moustache saw the employee diagnosed with cancer take the title this year.
