South America LED General Lighting Market Forecast

According to ElectroniCast, the use of General Lighting LED lamps is forecast to reach 2.69 billion units in 2027 in South America.

According to the market study, the South American consumption volume (quantity) of specified LED lamps, which are used in General Lighting, is estimated at 864 million units this year (2017).

ElectroniCast forecasts that the volume will increase at an average annual growth rate of 18.5 percent, reaching 2.02 billion in 2022, then increasing at a slower annual pace, reaching 2.69 billion units in the year 2027. Market forecast data in this study report refers to consumption (use) for a particular calendar year; therefore, this data is not cumulative data.

The LED lamps covered in this study are used in luminaires in stationary/fixed locations (non-vehicle/non-portable) General Lighting applications. The lamps are used in new fixtures, as well as retrofitting/replacement of existing (installed-based) lamps. The definition for General Lighting is – lighting that is used to provide the main illumination of an area. The ElectroniCast definition of General Lighting also includes directional and supplementary lighting.

The new report provides estimates and forecasts for the following countries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela, and combined “Other” countries in South America. According to ElectroniCast, the country of Brazil dominates the South American consumption in both value and volume (quantity).
