Davis College Deploys Campus Safety Through Campus Consortium’s $22,495 Grant Award

Chicago, IL, January 04, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Campus Consortium, the largest global education association of schools, colleges and universities awards a $22,495 Grant to Davis College, New York for the Campus Safety Mobile App.

“We are extremely delighted to receive this grant. Here at Davis, we are committed to our vision of 'Pursuing God'. Our student's security while on campus are paramount to that vision. A campus safety and security program must find the right balance between creating an open environment and upholding the duty to protect students, faculty and staff. With the grant coming our way, we believe, deploying the Campus Safety App will be a great asset for us in creating that right environment,” said Donnette Russell, Director of Development at Davis College.

The Campus Consortium Grant will enable Davis College to further strengthen the safety and security on campus. The Campus Safety App brings this functionality to a smartphone for an added sense of security both on and off campus. The application uses Wi-Fi or cellular data to provide your location data when you make an emergency call with the app. This gives far more accurate information about where you are, and therefore provides first responders with a better idea of where they need to go. Students can additionally redo the application to send alerts to their folks, gatekeepers or companions if there arises an occurrence of a crisis.

“The Campus Consortium Grant Committee is pleased to award this grant to Davis College,” states Anjli Jain, Chairman of the Campus Consortium. “Allowing students to directly get in touch with security will ensure their well-being and safety and keep campus crime at arm’s length.”
