Join the Capital Swing Dancers at the 26th Annual Capital Swing Convention

The Capital Swing Dancers of Sacramento invite you to join them at the 26th Annual Capital Swing Convention at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel at 2001 Point West Way.

Sacramento, CA, January 11, 2018 --(PR.com)-- The Capital Swing Convention honors the California State Dance of West Coast Swing. West Coast Swing has its roots in the vernacular dance, Lindy Hop; it is a slotted dance characterized by a distinctive elastic look that results from its unique partner connection and opportunities for freestyling. Professional West Coast Swing dancers have come from around the country to teach one-of-a-kind classes and workshops. Every night is filled with competitions and free time to dance and meet hundreds of new people.

Even if you have two left feet, the Capital Swing Convention has a class for you: The free beginner’s lessons are designed to help first-timers get out on the dance floor and are open to everyone. On Thursday, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., is a three hour comprehensive beginner’s series. On Sunday, from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m., is a basics only hour beginner’s lesson.

No need to bring a partner, just bring enthusiasm!

Prices vary - full weekend tickets at the door for juniors and their guardians start at $100, college students are $130 and Regular price is $170. Day passes are available at the door. Join the Capital Swing Dancers for an Early Bird Party on Thursday night for just $15 (or free to convention ticket holders). This year, the Capital Swing Dancers are asking for donations to their Sponsor A Student initiative, http://bit.ly/SponsorTheFuture. Money raised will be used to allow the minors and young college students in attendance to participate in the 3 master classes at Capital Swing, and further their dance education. They hope to raise $9,000.
