Boxing Illustrated is looking to twelve true boxing experts to select the top 50 fighters of modern boxing. The winners get honored on live worldwide television April 17 on the TVS Television Network.

Henderson, NV, February 28, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Boxing Illustrated Magazine Editor Sterling McPherson has selected a blue ribbon panel to name the definitive all time Top 50 boxers.

The panel includes legendary trainers Jimmy Glenn, Emmanuel Steward, and Janks Morton; former champions Ray Mancini, Mike McCallum, and Eddie Mustafa Muhammad; legendary announcer Bob ‘The Colonel’ Sheridan; former boxing commissioner Stu Mitchell, promoter Frank Warren, and former boxers Earnie Shavers, Jerry Cooney, and Harold Weston.

“We are fortunate to have such a heralded array of boxing legends to make this important decision,” said McPherson. “Each one of these gentlemen has a thorough knowledge of the entire history of modern boxing and have directly participated in the sport on a first hand basis.”
