Copcast - USA App Gives Investigators a New Tool to Record Evidence

Dallas, TX, February 02, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Copcast™, a smartphone application, is now commercially available for police investigators. Copcast™ is used by law enforcement to record alleged crimes and evidence in a manner that allows images to be admissible in court proceedings. A smartphone is a better alternative than single purpose traditional body cameras for investigators. Lightweight, easy to wear and carry, a smartphone gives investigators an on-duty and off-duty simple to use tool to capture important evidence, field interviews and crime scenes.

Copcast™ recordings are preserved and encrypted to prevent any changes after recording and are stored in cloud-based resources that are geo-redundant to minimize the chance of loss.

The Director of Copcast™ – USA, Andrew Rothfield, said this app’s recordings can make key differences in court proceedings. “Images are worth a thousand words,” said Rothfield. “We believe that the use of a smartphone makes much better sense than the exclusive use of still images. Images captured by Copcast™ are automatically uploaded to a CJIS protected cloud environment, are supplement the use of field notes.”

The application and related cloud storage are less than $50 per month per investigator.
