Mayor John Gettys Weights in on Local Economy and Diversity During Podcast

Rock Hill, SC, February 11, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Mayor John Gettys visits local leading software developer, SPAN Enterprises, to weigh in on plans for citywide expansions for economic growth. Agie Sundaram, CEO and Co-founder of SPAN Enterprises, was joined by Mayor Gettys during “The Bandit Room,” a weekly podcast covering small business, technology, and current events on the local and national level.

During the podcast, they discussed the importance of providing a soft-landing for a variety of diverse small businesses. After winning the runoff election in November, Mayor Gettys' first initiative is to address improved literacy and living wages.

“Taking on the task of literacy and improving the living wage is not an easy task, but it is my first innovative as Mayor. I am dedicated to this community-wide project, and we plan to contribute a lasting impact for future generations.”

Mayor Gettys plans to build a consensus within the community that will encourage economic growth. The planned expansion of Knowledge Park is widely anticipated and is believed to be the cornerstone in boosting the local economy.

“My answer for everything I plan to do over the next four years is Knowledge Park,” stated Mayor Gettys, “Knowledge Park is an incubator for what the Rock Hill community could be like as a whole benefiting future generations.”

In support of this initiative, Sundaram encourages the community and local small business owners to support the administration's agenda. The SPAN Enterprises CEO and Co-founder says, “As a community, we must continue to evolve and grow. We can not be complacent with our current community success, we must continue to push forward and challenge ourselves. This is important within my business and to our community.”

Tuesday, February 27th, The Rock Hill Economic Development Corporation and Mayor Gettys will be hosting a meeting at the Lowenstein building to discuss Rock Hill’s growing economy. All those interested are encouraged to attend.
