)-- TracPlus Global and AgriTrack announced today an agreement to deliver time-critical fire information from AgriTrack’s FireTrack into TracPlus’ global tracking and messaging service.
Last year, Australia experienced their warmest winter on record, contributing further to the threat of uncontrolled Wildfires and further necessitating the urgency for more detailed and comprehensive real time data delivery.
Under the agreement, fire break and fire line information captured by FireTrack using Android tablets will be delivered via TracPlus to firefighting operators and coordinating agencies throughout Australia. The agreement will also allow AgriTracks agricultural products to work outside cellular coverage using TracPlus equipment such as the RockAIR satellite and cellular tracker.
Over the last decade, TracPlus has gathered tracking data from every firefighting aircraft in Australia and delivered it to 19 state and federal organisations to help improve the effectiveness of the airborne fire-fighting response. “By working with FireTrack to capture additional location information about ground-based assets and the fire itself, we can help all those organisations achieve better mission outcomes,” said Chris Hinch, CIO of TracPlus.
AgriTrack has been providing logistics solutions to the agricultural sector for more than five years. “The commercial viability of our new FireTrack product relied on a global satellite messaging service, so our agreement with TracPlus is critical in taking this to market,” said Andrew Humphries, CEO of AgriTrack.
TracPlus provides global tracking, communication and collaboration solutions for those who operate in harm’s way. They enable EMS, first responder, search and rescue, tourism and general aviation operators to share real-time information to achieve better mission outcomes.
AgriTrack produces innovative logistics management systems for both the agriculture and emergency services sectors. Once installed in each asset, their suite of products provide the information required to allow for real-time logistics decisions to be made not only by management, but by each of the operators working on the ground.
