)-- Akadema is pleased to announce that longtime Akadema Endorser, Derek Holland, has signed a deal with the San Francisco Giants. Holland has been working out for the team and is poised to make a run during spring training to make the Major League roster. Holland, drafted in the 25th round of the 2006 MLB draft out of Wallace State Community College, burst onto the scene in 2009 with the aforementioned Rangers. He then posted his career year in 2011 when he pitched to a 16-5 record. Vice President of Sales Kris Totten said on Holland, “We are very excited to have Derek back in our stable of players. He’s a great guy on and off the field. We wish him the best in big league camp.” Holland will be in competition for a starting or bullpen role for this upcoming MLB season and we would like to wish him the best.
