)-- Alice Palmeri, LMT gave a talk on February 9th at The Children's Health Space in SE Portland, Oregon. She shared her own experiences on the benefits of massage for teenagers and children.
Palmeri discussed the health benefits gained from massage using techniques such as Swedish massage, heat therapy, muscle every technique, orthobionomy, and yoga. Also mentioned were the physical benefits of massage for children that included increased blood circulation and lymphatic flow as well as a rise in endorphins.
"Being a teenager is hard, you all remember it. When a teenager or child received massage, their body releases endorphins which help the brain function better. Massage also allows children and teens a few moments to relax and unwind, something that is missing from kids loved in our body world." Palmeri added, "After reading Simplicity Patenting, I made it a goal to prioritize time to relax and unwind for our family. Children are always in the go but during a massage, they show themselves time to process and unwind."
Alice works at Portland Pilates Collective in SE Portland.
