"Day After Valentine’s" to Premiere at the TCL Chinese Theatres

Los Angeles, CA, April 05, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Powered by Indie Night Film Festival at the TCL Chinese Theatres, Dreamington Ave. is proud to announce the premiere of its short film "Day After Valentine’s," a comedy-drama starring Alex Lavelanet and Kate Tumanova, written and directed by Catherine Ouellette.

"Day After Valentine’s" is the story of an unemployed aeronautic engineer and a customer service agent forming an unlikely friendship at an AirBnB that led them to overcome their angst induced by racism and misogyny in their home lives.

Alex Lavelanet stars in this short, as a follow-up to Issa Rae Presents Milk + Honey. Her breakthrough performance as Sandra embodies the woes of interracial relationships and constant micro-aggressive racism existing in our daily norm. Known for her role as Caroline in American Exorcism, in "Day After Valentine’s," Kate Tumanova plays Luna, the yin to the yang of Sandra. She effortlessly infuses within her character an impulsive, strong-willed, and unapologetic nature yet manifests Luna’s vulnerability in the midst of systematic misogyny.

Catherine Ouellette, known for her career as a DJ to the likes of Eddie Murphy, NASCAR, Chaka Khan, and Metta World Peace, is looking forward to stepping into a new realm of art form such as filmmaking. Enrolled at UCLA for Cinematography and Screenwriting, she was one of the handpicked screenwriters of "Evil Days" for James Franco's masterclasses.

"Day After Valentine’s" is set for a world premiere at TCL Chinese Theatres on April 7, 2018, at 3 p.m. The red carpet begins at 2:30 p.m. Ticket admissions are now available at DayAfterValentines.com
