Piggs Peak, Swaziland, March 07, 2008 --(PR.com)-- He also won the 2006 Celebrity tournament, and ably defended his title in his true sassy style and was the eternal gentleman during his heads-up with Kurt Darren. His generous donation to the Foundation of Love will provide the means to build a greatly needed crèche.

This star studded event, hosted by Piggs Peak Casino in Swaziland, saw 11 of Southern Africa’s top celebrities, battling it out to help the charities of their choice, with the cash prizes going towards worthy causes, to help out with the day-to-day activities of their centers.

A total prize pool of R150,000, sponsored by Piggs Peak Casino, was guaranteed for the charities of the top three placed celebrities. The first prize being R100,000, second R30,000 which went to the Walter Sisulu Paediatric Centre, Kurt Darren’s choice, and third of R20,000 going to Tapologo Aids Hospice, being Ed Jordan’s charity.

Danny K, the winner showed just how playing this skillful game requires solid concentration and the ability to read his opponents at the table.

The event boasted the big names of Colin Moss, Kurt Darren, Elana Afrika, Neil Andrews, Minki Van der Westhuizen, Darren Scott, Lee-Ann Liebenberg, Conrad Koch, Danny K, Ed Jordan and Swaziland’s very own Hlobisile Ndlovu.

Piggs Peak Casino donated an additional R50,000 to the Piggs Peak Aids support group, on behalf of the exuberant Swaziland celebrity entrant, the Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Youth Affairs, Hlobisile Ndlovu. Her obvious delight was echoed in her words, “This money will make such a difference to the lives of so many, words don’t express how grateful we are.”

Wendy Graaf, Group Marketing Manager of Piggs Peak, says “What a day! We overcame staggering odds to get all the celebrities to the tournament, and it proved to be worth the effort, as these worthy charities were the eventual winners.

“With the stakes being raised in true Piggs Peak style, this year’s AAP Celebrity Charity tournament lived up to it’s promise of being exciting and highly entertaining. This event saw lots of fun, camaraderie and banter with all of the celebrities and media players joining in, to make this a huge success, especially with this volatile combination of comedians, singers and beautiful women.”

As always, the action has been caught on camera and will be shown on the All Africa Poker Channel, DSTV 393 from the end of April 2008. For schedule details visit www.allafricapoker.com
