Milpitas, CA, May 11, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Monte Sereno resident Vik Ghai, Co-Founder, CTO, and Board member at Quantum Secure, part of HID Global has joined the Board of Directors at Child Advocates of Silicon Valley. Vik brings a wealth of business and technology experience to Child Advocates. As an entrepreneur, adviser, and investor in technology, security, and consumer focused companies, his background will be invaluable as the agency undergoes a digital transformation to meet its strategic goals.

“I look forward to working with Child Advocates to drive innovation and utilize technology platforms that will help the agency scale and serve more foster children,” explains Vik. “Every foster child deserves the opportunity to become a productive, healthy adult.”

“We are delighted to have Vik join our board,” says Karen Scussel, Executive Director of Child Advocates of Silicon Valley. “In addition to business experience, Vik brings great enthusiasm and commitment to our community’s children and youth.”

Child Advocates has implemented a strategic plan to provide a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for every child in the Santa Clara County foster care system by year-end 2021. That’s about 1200 children. CASAs are matched with foster children to provide critical emotional and educational support, ensuring that each child’s needs are met and their voice is heard while navigating the court dependency system. By July 2018, Child Advocates expects to serve nearly 900 children in the foster care system with a CASA.

About Child Advocates of Silicon Valley

Child Advocates is the only agency in Santa Clara County that provides Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) to foster youth. Because our volunteers are court-appointed, they can thoroughly research every aspect of a child’s case, including meeting teaches, doctors, social workers. Counselors, biological family members and foster parents, thereby gaining a comprehensive perspective on what the child needs in order to thrive CASAs assist their child in accessing needed resources, follow their school progress, and speak up for their child’s best interests in court. They maintain complete records about the case, submit reports and attend court hearings. CASA volunteers stay with their case until their child has a safe, loving home.
