New Cookbook by Judy Kohl Serves Up Healthy Recipes to Make with Children

Dog Ear Publishing reviews a new book that aims to introduce healthy eating habits to children in a way that is both fun and engaging. The entertaining and creative story teaches children about preparing foods, eating healthy and the importance of exercising.

Basalt, CO, May 30, 2018 --(PR.com)-- It can be difficult to please young children when it comes to the foods they want to eat. The author combined her love of animals, being a vegan and her work as a preschool teacher to create a unique story cookbook that is designed especially for the young reader. Dog Ear Publishing has released the book.

“Little Superhero Chefs’ Epicurean Adventures” features a cast of four endearing animal characters: Solomon the pig, Roney the chicken, Gretta the cow and Terry the sheep. Together they show young children that chef aprons are just superhero capes on backward. The most important ingredient to any recipe is love.

The five healthy, easy recipes in the cookbook feature organic vegan ingredients with no added sugars. They range from “Ants on a Log” to “Green Monster Smoothies.” Beyond showcasing these five simple recipes, the cookbook provides a guide to help adults give young children the sensory experiences that come with cooking, and it shows the importance of healthy home-cooked meals. As the author points out, cooking with young children also helps them to build basic math concepts and language skills, boost self-confidence and lay a foundation for eating healthy.

Illustrator Ana Marquez draws the four animal friends with plenty of personality. The characters showcase the importance of including fun with cooking.

Author Judy Kohl owned and taught at a Montessori-based preschool. She is on a new mission: Working to bring awareness to young children about the importance of healthy eating. She was inspired to write the book thanks to her granddaughter’s selective eating habits and her own passion for animals. She wanted to create a way to introduce young children to healthy foods in a creative and positive way.
