Buena Park Celebrates Make Music Day at The Source OC

Make Music Buena Park is Part of a Global Celebration of Making Music with a Free "Open Mic" Event for the Community.

Buena Park, CA, June 06, 2018 --(PR.com)-- The Source OC, Southern California’s newest entertainment and lifestyle destination in Buena Park, will host the Make Music Buena Park celebration with a special open mic event on Thursday, June 21, 2018. Make Music Day is a one-day global event where free, live musical performances, opportunities to make music, and other musical events take place around the world on the longest day of the year. Through collaborations between Buena Park based businesses - Yamaha Corporation of America, The Source and the City of Buena Park, Make Music Buena Park will be part of a global celebration of music making in over 750 cities inspired by France’s Fête de la Musique.

Make Music Buena Park invites everyone from professional musicians to people who have never picked up an instrument to join in the global music celebration by performing on stage or around other areas within The Source. The main event will take place on the first floor Main Plaza of The Source from 5:00 – 9:00 pm, welcoming participants to perform on stage with any musical talent they would like to showcase.

Sign-ups are open to the public at www.thesourceoc.com/makemusicdaybp and participants are also welcome to sign-up on the day of the event. As part of Make Music Buena Park, all participants will be entered into a special drawing for a chance to win a Yamaha keyboard or a Yamaha guitar, donated by Yamaha Corporation of America. A total of 3 winners will be randomly selected to win. Additionally, the first 40 participants will win headphones also contributed to the event by Yamaha.

National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) members and partners from coast to coast, including The Source OC, will open their doors, joining in their communities’ celebrations of Make Music Day. June 21 is the perfect day to stop in to a local music store for some gear or to go out and play – whether it’s for the first time or the thousandth.
