New CEO Appointed for VA

Nigel Orme has been appointed as CEO for VA.

Cambridge, United Kingdom, July 19, 2018 --(PR.com)-- VA has announced the appointment of Nigel Orme as Chief Executive Officer.

Originally from New Zealand, Nigel attended Norwich University in the US before starting his aviation career over 20 years ago as a Rescue Flight Paramedic. He then returned to NZ and completed his commercial flight training for both airplanes and helicopters. This lead to a number of Training Captain roles, mostly in the Middle East.

Nigel subsequently transitioned into aviation management and has since held several senior executive roles, initially in Singapore and then in the UK, with a focus on strategic partnerships and business development with airlines, business aviation operators and OEMs. Most recently he was with CAE, first at Oxford Aviation Academy, developing airline partnerships, and then based in Burgess Hill managing the strategic sales team across Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia.

VA is an EASA Approved Training Organisation (ATO) providing simulator training and flight crew resourcing from its Training Centre at Cambridge Airport, near London Stansted. The company recently announced it had secured significant funding to facilitate its expansion plans, which include the development of a range of new training courses and the acquisition of new flight simulators.
