KVIQ Thrives with New NVerzion Source Switch, NFinity Server, and NControl Package

NVerzion and KVIQ have worked together to create an innovative broadcast solution that eliminates extraneous hardware with this new, Source-Switch technology.

Eureka, CA, July 21, 2018 --(PR.com)-- KVIQ is a CBS affiliate serving Humboldt County from Eureka, CA. Satisfied in their previous experience with NVerzion, KVIQKVIQ recently streamlined their workflow and modernized equipment with a custom solution; including a full-feature 4 channel NFinity Broadcast Video Server, with new Source Switch technology.

The Station was looking for a streamlined, non-hardware solution for switching between live and recorded content. NFinity's Source Switch feature turned out to be just what KVIQ needed— a software solution that doesn't require an external router to change playout sources. This useful new feature enables live switching to any recorded content, or full screen bulletin, and includes simple transitions. KVIQ will use Source Switch to monitor SCTE-35 triggers for the switch.

KVIQ wanted to expand operations, giving them more flexibility during both live and recorded programming. They added the new NFinity Video Server, and an additional automation workstation dedicated for the KIEM sister station. KVIQ will use NFinity as their primary playout server for both KVIQ and KIEM.

In addition to live events, the station will use NFinity for all its regular programming, including syndication and network shows. NFinity interfaces easily with KVIQ's network storage, satellite feed, and their existing NVerzion automation.

NFinity’s strong feature set simplifies the KVIQ workflow by centralizing different functions. They will be using its graphic overlay capabilities to streamline hardware, will rely on its EAS capabilities, and station operators will be using the built-in NFinityView QC tool for quality assurance and quick edits.

Both station and NVerzion staff are proud of this project. Incorporating the latest of NVerzion's technology, this custom solution gives KVIQ access to the features and flexibility they need to run their station at peak efficiency.

The new recording feature allows linear programming to be automatically segmented. The system watches for a black slate and automatically inserts a marker. This reduces editing and segmenting time required by master control.
