Florida Solar Energy Center to Offer FGBC Certifying Agent Course

A certifying agent guides developers, builders, contractors and designers through the process of qualifying for "Florida Green" certification.

Orlando, FL, July 23, 2018 --(PR.com)-- The Florida Solar Energy Center (FSEC) will be offering The Florida Green Home Certification Training course and exam for becoming a Designated Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC) Certifying Agent.

FGBC is a nonprofit 501(C)3 Florida corporation dedicated to improving the built environment.

Founded in 2000, FGBC is the leading certifier of green projects in Florida with a mission is to lead and promote a state of sustainability with environmental, economic, and social benefits through regional education, information, grassroots outreach and certification programs.

This two day course will be offered on Thursday, Aug. 9 and Friday, Aug. 10, 2018 at the Florida Solar Energy Center, 1679 Clearlake Road, Cocoa, FL 32922. This will be the only course offered this year.

FSEC, a research institute of the University of Central Florida, was created by the Florida Legislature in 1975 to serve as the state’s energy research institute.

The main responsibilities of the center are to conduct research, test and certify solar systems, and develop education programs.

A FGBC Certifying Agent guides developers, builders, contractors and designers through the process of qualifying for "Florida Green" certification.

They also organize submittals to be sent with the FGBC application and streamline the process of obtaining third-party certification.

To date FGBC has over 17,600 residential, commercial, high-rise, land developments and local governments participating in its certification programs
