)-- The American Cannabis Report is proud to announce that David Hodes, a member of the National Press Club and an experienced and award-winning American journalist with deep experience writing about the cannabis industry, has joined as their Washington Correspondent.
Mr. Hodes was named 2018 Journalist of the Year by Americans for Safe Access, the largest U.S. medical cannabis advocacy organization. He has served as Managing Editor for Cannabis Business Executive, and written for nine different business-to-business cannabis publications including one of the industry standards, DOPE Magazine.
He won the 2016 Vivian Award from the National Press Club for work as deputy director of National Press Club Newsmakers Committee, and has twice been credentialed by The Periodical Press Gallery (press credentials for Capitol Hill).
Prior to embracing cannabis journalism, David was a field producer for NFL Network, CBS, ESPN and others, and organized and moderated 25 hour-long press conferences at the National Press Club on topics such as cannabis legalization of marijuana, FAA and drones, infrastructure development, evolution of law enforcement, banking regulation, humanoid use for autism treatment, the first Muslim commission on human rights and others.
Mr. Hodes was a former wire reporter for AM Best covering federal and state insurance rules and policies, and has worked as contract reporter/writer for Washingtonian, Smart CEO, Washington Business Journal, Virginia Business, Global Corporation Xpansion magazine, and others.
