The connection between the passenger counter and industrial cellular router relies on the Ethernet service of RJ45. The DI is used for connecting with the alcohol lock, triggering the SMS/Email alarm, and DO is in the control of the engine heater through SMS. The Driver needs to check his breath with the alcohol lock every time he starts the bus engine. If the test result is negative, the bus will function properly. But if he fails, the vehicle will lock, and send an alarm e-mail/SMS out to the remote server over the 3G/4G network. Second, with the engine heater, the driver is allowed to preheat the bus engine by sending an SMS and makes it start quickly regardless of the cold weather.
The passenger counter is the most critical components of this solution, it helps the school to check in and checkout the number of children, preventing stranding a child on the bus, and through Python programming, all data from the passenger counter will be processed on the router with a customized Python application, which greatly improve the efficiency.
