Unicel Adds 12 New Cellular Sites to Wireless Network in Minnesota

Alexandria, MN, March 16, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Unicel recently has added 12 new cell sites -- five in the greater Mankato area, seven in the greater Marshall area -- to bring enhanced wireless coverage and better signal strength, a larger calling area, improved voice quality and access to high-speed data transfer and other features. The Alexandria-based wireless company provides the latest technology and improved network coverage to primarily rural communities in 15 states.

These improvements are all part of Unicel’s $135 million network investment around the nation, with nearly $64 million invested in its Midwest territory alone in the past two years. Residents, visitors and commuters will notice superior cellular coverage resulting from these cell sites:

The company has been providing cellular service across the Midwest for more than 17 years and will continue to add new cell sites based on customer needs and geography.

These new developments bring the total number of Unicel sites in Minnesota to 306, giving residents, travelers and business people the benefits of an advanced network.

“Unicel is committed to making sure its customers experience the best in wireless service,” said Mike Unrein, sales director for Unicel. “Unicel invests in new cell sites to provide the most extensive network and latest features possible to Minnesota’s primarily rural population. We’re proud to help make local connections among business owners, residents and visitors to the area stronger – that’s the way wireless should be.”
