Houston Astros Pitcher Chris Devenski to Partner with The Center for Hearing and Speech and Via Colori Street Painting Festival

Houston, TX, September 27, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Houston Via Colori® The Street Painting Festival benefiting the Center for Hearing and Speech (CHS) announces today, that Astros’ player Chris Devenski will act as the festival’s celebrity spokesperson. Mr. Devenski will collaborate with the Center for Hearing and Speech for various marketing and public relations activities, as well as being one of Via Colori’s featured artists. This partnership will support the Center’s commitment to enabling children with hearing loss reach their full potential.

“We are excited to bring Chris’ passion for art as a form of self-expression to the 2018 Via Colori festival,” says Jenifer Wickesberg – Summers, Interim Executive Director of CHS. “This partnership is a wonderful opportunity to share the Center’s mission with a much broader audience.”

Chris Devenski is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Houston Astros of Major League Baseball. Prior to playing professionally, Devenski played college baseball for Golden West College and California State University, Fullerton. He made his MLB debut in 2016 and was named an MLB All-Star in 2017.

“I am beyond flattered to be involved with such a great event like Via Colori. Having the opportunity to help children in our community is always a blessing, but when you can achieve that through the beauty of art, it was a no-brainer for me,” says Devenski.

Besides being Via Colori’s s celebrity spokesperson, Chris will be a featured artist and create a piece of art of his own. Don’t miss him and more than 200 local, national and international artists create impressive chalk murals on the streets of downtown Houston, November 17 and 18. The only festival of its kind in Houston, also features three stages of live music, Via Bambini family zone, food and beverage vendors over the two-day event.

Via Colori raises more than $400,000 annually to fund health and educational services for children with hearing loss in Houston through The Center for Hearing and Speech.

Admission

General admission is $7 online and $10 at the door. Children under 18 and students with a valid college ID receive free admission. The ticket price is good for both days of the festival.
