Detroit, MI, October 10, 2018 --(PR.com
)-- The award recognizes women as leaders in the workplace, in the Michigan marketing/communications industry and in the community.
Candice Simons, CEO and President of Detroit-based advertising company Brooklyn Outdoor, has been named one of Crain’s Detroit Business’s Notable Women in Communications/Marketing in Michigan. The award recognizes exceptional women leaders in the workplace, in the Michigan marketing/communications industry, and in the community.
Crain’s Detroit Business utilizes the Notable Women awards to celebrate women who make their mark on Michigan business. The women who are being celebrated have been nominated by their peers in the workplace and in the community. This year, Crain’s Content Studio will be profiling over 200 women in business as part of these awards.
Simons’ role as the leader of Brooklyn Outdoor promotes the economic growth of the city and builds relationships between local creatives and national companies. Brooklyn Outdoor’s predominately-female team empowers women who aim to make their mark in an otherwise male-dominated field. Simons is the catalyst for the company’s practices which bring fresh ideas and perspectives to the outdoor advertising industry.
Simons is thrilled to be awarded by Crain’s Detroit Business for her work in communications and marketing. “I would not have been recognized for this award without the hard work of the Brooklyn Outdoor team and the generosity of my peers. Brooklyn Outdoor would not have accomplished what it has without them. Also, the pride and spirit of the Detroit community has kept me inspired and focused on the path to success,” said Simons.
