New York, NY, October 11, 2018 --(PR.com)-- SEA CLOUD CRUISES, the Hamburg operator of small, fine sailing cruises is happy to announce two prestigious awards, a 5-star rating for both ships in the latest edition of the renowned guide Berlitz Cruising & Cruise Ships 2019 and included as a top small ship in the Condé Nast Traveler's 2018 Readers' Choice Awards.

Douglas Ward’s team at Berlitz Cruising & Cruise Ships tested a total of 300 cruise ships and scored them based on criteria such as ship hardware, accommodation, cuisine, service, entertainment and the general cruise experience. Both the SEA CLOUD and the SEA CLOUD II received a 5-star rating, only given to one other ship in the book, as well as moving up in the boutique category. SEA CLOUD is rated second in the Boutique Ships category, moving up from third last year, and fourth overall, with a total score of 1,702 out of 2,000 points. SEA CLOUD II is rated third in the Boutique Ships category, moving up from fourth last year, and fifth overall, with a score of 1,701 out of 2,000 points. The 2019 edition will be on newsstands on November 1, 2018.

In addition, SEA CLOUD CRUISES is included in the prestigious Condé Nast Traveler's Readers' Choice Awards, under top small ships in the world. Over 429,000 readers submitted millions of ratings and tens of thousands of comments, sharing their recent travel experiences of the world’s cities, islands, hotels, resorts, cruise lines, airlines, and airports - good or bad. All the winners will be announced in the November issue of Condé Nast Traveler, on newsstands this week.

“We are very proud of both of these wins for our two ships, the SEA CLOUD and the SEA CLOUD II. We work very hard as a company to offer superior service, outstanding food, top-notch accommodations, and most importantly an authentic sailing experience. It is a thrill to be nationally recognized for our efforts, and we hope both awards will continue to bring awareness to our unique and exceptional ships,” says Daniel Schafer, Managing Director of SEA CLOUD CRUISES.

Launched in 1931, SEA CLOUD is a legendary windjammer that brings back the glamour of a bygone age. The yacht's original owners were Marjorie Merriweather Post and her husband Edward Hutton. Sister ship SEA CLOUD II was built in 2001. SEA CLOUD CRUISES’ ships have some of the most spectacular public rooms and cabins at sea. Days onboard are relaxing and the port of calls in the Caribbean or Europe are unique, and usually not frequented by a dozen other ships. Food and service are also top-notch. SEA CLOUD CRUISES most notable feature is its four masts and 29 sails. Unlike the modern, electronically operated sailing ships in the industry, all sailing is done by hand on SEA CLOUD CRUISES.
