Murphy’s Mercantile & Co. Opens in Columbia

Columbia, PA, October 19, 2018 --(PR.com)-- On Saturday, September 29, Murphy’s Mercantile, a new boutique gift shop in Columbia, opened its doors to locals and tourists alike. In addition to the shop’s opening, their new website also launched over the weekend, www murphys- mercantile com.

Murphy’s Mercantile is the newest addition to the Hinkle’s Restaurant business. After nearly closing in the Fall of 2017, Don and Becky Murphy purchased the closing restaurant. A few weeks later, Hinkle’s was reopened under the same name and vision for expansion was in the works.

In addition to Hinkle’s Restaurant, Don had a vision for saving the nostalgia that came along with it. Although the original pharmacy of Hinkle’s is no longer an operation of the establishment, Murphy’s Mercantile & Co. was added in its place.

Murphy’s Mercantile was inspired by old-time general stores from the days of Hinkle’s. Murphy’s offers a variety of gifts, candy and other items that bring customers back in time. Whether you’re local to Columbia or passing through while traveling, be sure to stop into Murphy’s Mercantile & Co.
