Love & Pride Relaunches the Erase Hate Pendant to Benefit the Matthew Shepard Foundation

Originally launched in 2006, Love and Pride’s Erase Hate pendant was designed in solidarity with Judy and Dennis Shepard’s organization, founded after their son Matthew’s untimely death by anti-gay hate crime. The highly-publicized tragedy drew national media attention, inspiring Love and Pride founder Udi Behr to create an iconic piece of jewelry representing love and unity.
“When I think about my jewelry as a messenger of love and hope, this pendant is by far my favorite piece,” says Behr. “Not only does it raise awareness and funds, but it also sends a very clear message: erase hate. As a father and artist, you can’t ask for more.”
100% of proceeds from pendant sales benefitted the Foundation, amounting to over $150,000. In 2010, Love and Pride was awarded with the Matthew Shepard Foundation Essential Piece Award. Now, to mark the 20th anniversary of Matthew Shepard’s death, Love and Pride once again partners with the Foundation to spread awareness and erase hate.
