Bob Moore Construction Joins U.S. Green Building Council

Arlington, TX, March 19, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Bob Moore Construction has become a member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

The USGBC is a non profit organization that is dedicated to expanding green building practices and education. The organization’s LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System™ encourages and accelerates global adoption of sustainable green building and development practices through the creation and implementation of universally understood and accepted tools and performance criteria.

LEED is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings, providing building owners and operators the tools they need to have an immediate and measurable impact on their buildings’ performance. LEED promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in six key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable sites, water efficiency, energy, atmosphere, materials and resources and indoor environmental air quality.

Bob Moore Construction maintains a LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) on its staff to coordinate green building standards with project management, superintendents and clients. LEED APs are industry professionals who have demonstrated a thorough understanding of green building techniques, the LEED Green Building Rating System, and the certification process through the successful completion of training and testing by the Green Building Certification Institute.

“Joining the USGBC will allow us to maximize our effectiveness as a green building company,” said Phillip Bell, President of Bob Moore Construction. “Building energy and water efficiencies into new construction projects and implementing designs that maximize new facilities’ environmental friendliness make our final products better, more cost effective during the life cycle of the facility and more marketable for the developers we work with. We’re excited about the new benefits we can provide to our clients as a result of our involvement with USGBC and LEED.”

“Energy efficiency and environmental responsibility are becoming more and more important to developers and owners,” said Jason Cole, LEED AP for Bob Moore Construction. “Energy cost increases are driving a greater desire to manage those resources efficiently. State and local governments are increasing their environmental and water usage standards, and in some cases offering incentives for “eco friendly” building and operating practices as well. Green building has become smart building, and we’re very pleased that we can support this growing trend in our industry.”
