I Said Yes Partners with Wish Upon a Wedding to Help Couples Facing Serious Illness Get Down the Aisle

Without the worry of the wedding cost, wedding wishes are granted to those experiencing life altering circumstances and the results are creating beautiful memories that will last forever.

San Francisco, CA, November 07, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Wish Upon a Wedding, a non-profit organization, has helped over 125 couples say “I Do” since its launch in January 2010 and I Said Yes has joined in to help more couples.

At Wish Upon a Wedding, the belief is that two people in love should never be denied the chance to marry their soul mate, and the non-profit provides this opportunity to those who have endured far greater challenges than many of us could possibly imagine.

In 2009, founder, Liz Guthrie, was producing a large scale wedding giveaway in San Francisco, she realized that there are so many couples in need, and so many generous business owners offering to donate their time and services to a deserving couple. She found herself wishing there was a way to donate dream weddings to couples across the country.

Out of the 350 couples that entered the giveaway, one bride-to-be stood out in her mind.

Vanessa was battling Stage IV Hodgkin’s Lymphoma while her fiancé, an officer in the US Air Force, was deployed overseas. This couple won the Giveaway through public voting, and it was their Love Story that ultimately inspired the creation of Wish Upon a Wedding. Liz felt that there was so many other couples that deserved a day away from their illness. She created Wish Upon a Wedding with this in mind and to this day Wish Upon a Wedding has granted nearly 130 wedding wishes.

MJ Puertas, Founder of I Said Yes Mobile App and I Said Yes Bridal Box Subscription Service, has pledged to donate a percentage of proceeds directly to Wish Upon A Wedding to grant more wedding wishes to brides like Vanessa.

When asked why she chose Wish Upon A Wedding, MJ Puertas said: “What a better way to combine my two passions, 'all things wedding' and my determination to fight a terrible disease, then partnering with a wonderful organization granting wedding wishes and celebrating love? Donating a percentage of proceeds from I Said Yes App & Bridal Box to benefit couples facing serious illness while planning a wedding brings me joy. As a Breast Cancer Thriver, I know how expensive medical care is and although I didn’t have to plan a wedding during my treatments, I have made it my personal mission to help those that simply cannot afford both.”
