Eugene, OR, November 16, 2018 --(PR.com)-- The Society of North American Goldsmiths (SNAG) has announced the details and applicable dates for its 2019 Conference Student Scholarships (CSS). SNAG’s 2019 conference, “The Loop: Coming Full Circle,” will take place in Chicago, IL, from May 22 - 25, 2019. The theme of the 2019 conference commemorates the 50th anniversary of SNAG’s founding in 1969, after a meeting of metalsmiths in Chicago who were united in a belief in the value of strengthening the jewelry and metals field through professional conferences and quality exhibitions. SNAG has since become a large creative community of artists from diverse backgrounds including artist-designers, makers, collectors, curators, historians, patrons, and the metalsmithing-curious.

SNAG’s conferences are the largest gatherings of professionals in its field and are a key opportunity for networking and building a successful and sustainable career. Once again, SNAG is pleased to announce that it will be offering a limited number of Conference Student Scholarships to commemorate this historic conference. The call for applications opens on December 3, 2018 and closes on January 21, 2019.

The Conference Student Scholarship covers the cost of student members’ conference registration. Students who are awarded a scholarship will still be responsible for all travel to and from the conference, and food and lodging during the conference. Recipients of the CSS will be expected to attend the entire conference and:

● Complete 8 hours of volunteer service during the conference.
● Participate in a group photograph at the conference.
● Share their experience with a written/video reflection/testimonial after the conference.

Conference Student Scholarships are available to any student enrolled full-time or part-time in any educational program at any recognized college, university, technical school, community college, non-traditional school, or any other degree or certificate granting program. Awardees must be current student members of SNAG at the time of registration.
