Austin-Based Design Professionals Complete LEED Accreditation for Commercial Interiors

IDR Studio to Provide Independent Consulting for LEED Certification.

Austin, TX, March 20, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Sungmi Kim and Ashley Faseler of Austin-based design firm IDR Studio recently completed Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Professional Accreditation for Commercial Interiors. LEED for Commercial Interiors is the nationally accepted rating system developed by the U.S. Green Building Council and is the green benchmark for the tenant improvement market. As LEED AP’s, Ms. Kim and Ms. Faseler are certified to manage projects to become registered and certified under the LEED Rating System for Commercial Interiors.

LEED for Commercial Interiors allows tenants and designers the opportunity to make green choices for interiors, even if they lease their space or do not occupy the entire building. It provides guidance in sustainable design by certifying high-performance green interiors that are healthy, productive places to work; are less costly to operate; and have a reduced environmental footprint.

In addition to applying LEED standards to their own projects, IDR Studio will now also provide LEED documentation services for those who wish to outsource the certification process. The LEED for Commercial Interiors certification process includes project registration, submittal documentation, design phase review and assessment, construction administration, and fee management.
