ZOIC Clothing™ Raises $1,600 for Outdoor Outreach

San Diego, CA, March 20, 2008 --(PR.com)-- ZOIC Clothing™, the cycling and outdoor clothing manufacturer, announced today it has raised $1,600 for Outdoor Outreach through its 2nd annual spring fundraiser, a mountain bike ride and sponsored raffle.

Outdoor Outreach, a non-profit organization, provides opportunities for at-risk and underprivileged youth to gain confidence and self-esteem through participation in outdoor activities. Their programs support underserved youth in San Diego County who are at risk for school dropout, substance abuse, violence and unintended pregnancy. Since its founding in 2001, Outdoor Outreach has taken more than 3,500 youth on over 1,000 outings, including rock climbing, snowboarding, surfing, snorkeling, mountain biking and backpacking. More information can be found at www.outdooroutreach.org.

"We're thrilled to be the beneficiary of the ZOIC event. Besides raising money for our organization, the event is a great opportunity to expose the local outdoor community to our work. We're grateful for the opportunity to partner with a company like ZOIC who shares our values and passion for the outdoors,” said Christopher Rutgers, Executive Director of Outdoor Outreach.

“This ride is a great opportunity to get the kids from Outdoor Outreach on the trail and riding with passionate mountain bikers. The kids were amazing, they were naturals on the bikes; hopefully some of them will gravitate to the sport and enjoy what mountain biking and getting outdoors offer beyond this event,” said Eric Swenson, President of ZOIC Clothing. “We were fortunate to double our donation this year through a great turnout and an amazing list of sponsors. We are already looking forward to next year and seeing if we can double the proceeds again!”

ZOIC’s annual event held locally at Los Penasquitos Canyon Preserve attracted approximately 100 riders, including 10 kids from the Outdoor Outreach program. Supporters had the opportunity to socialize with the kids and fellow avid mountain bikers as well as participate in social, intermediate, or lung–busting rides. Local retailer Bike Wear World was on hand serving up water bottles from their Tiki Bar. The postcard-quality day culminated in a thrilling raffle made possible by the generosity of an impressive list of sponsors.

Raffle prizes included stylish apparel and accessories from Felt Bicycles, GIRO, L.A. Fairchild Boutique and Denim Bar, Mission Playground, and ZOIC Clothing; bicycle tools and accessories from NiteRider, Topeak, and Vittoria/Geax; bags and backpacks from Bob Trailers and Gregory Mountain Products, energy bars from Clif Bar, a 6 month supply of Vitamin Water, and the grand raffle prize, a brand new Electra beach cruiser. Outdoor Outreach received 100% of the raffle proceeds.

ZOIC, one of the first cycling clothing companies to create the integrated “baggy” mountain bike short and a pioneer in the casual and technical elements of performance knit jerseys, welcomes it’s 14th season with a new Women’s Streetside casual collection and a new Kid’s line featuring integrated shorts, padded knickers and stylish tops.
