Health and Wellness Program Launches for Vermont Youth

Burlington, VT, March 21, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The Vermont Institute on Health and Wellness (VIHW) announces the first statewide health and wellness institute for high school students. The week-long institute will begin on June 22, 2008 hosted by Champlain College in Burlington, Vermont.

VIHW is designed for improving performance of athletes, actors, dancers, musicians, and artists, as well as for students thinking of being doctors, nurses, EMTs, physical therapists, yoga instructors, massage therapists, or other health professionals.

“I believe this week-long intensive program will be a profoundly life-changing experience for the participants. It will inspire and educate them to develop a commitment and passion for health and fitness,” said Jeff Mandell, VIHW founder and CEO.

Guided by leaders in the health and wellness fields, students will explore the world of preventative medicine, learning body science and optimal wellness. Daily seminars led by medical doctors, nutritionists, holistic psychologists, and other health and wellness practitioners, will teach fitness for life, including yoga, meditation, self-care, injury prevention, and managing stress in daily life.

The Vermont Institute on Health and Wellness is a week-long intensive residential summer experience for 24 high school students from every region of Vermont. Students and parents can find more information and an application at www.vihw.org. Applications are due by April 15, 2008 website.
