Care For Friends Hires New Executive Director

Hope Pavich hits the ground running with plans for Chicago’s homeless.

Chicago, IL, January 02, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Care For Friends proudly announced today that Hope Pavich has joined the organization as their new Executive Director. Pavich will lead the Chicago-based organization in its work to connect Chicago’s homeless with the resources they need to achieve a better quality of life - an initiative which the organization calls #MoreThanAHandout.

Pavich has been involved in the Chicago nonprofit sector for over a decade. Her interest in working with Chicago communities began when she first started working at the Marriott Foundation. With them, she worked with Chicago Public Schools, Chicago employers, and inner-city youth, as well as conducted client recruitment and managed the WIA grant database. Prior to starting at Care For Friends, Pavich worked at Chicago-based Greenheart Travel, where she was responsible for the oversight, growth, and development of international youth programs.

“Care For Friends takes on a global issue, by creating significant, positive impact within the homeless community, here in Chicago. This organization’s unique approach of not only resolving the immediate challenges faced by homeless Chicagoans, but addressing its root causes, is crucial to the goal of ending homelessness,” said Pavich. “After I learned of Care For Friends in depth, its efforts, and the outcomes they achieve through those efforts, I knew it was an organization I wanted to partner with. It is and honor to lead this organization into the next level.”

Pavich is already involved in the planning and execution of the organization’s Sleepout for Homelessness, a fundraising event taking place on February 22nd of this year. That night, she will join dozens of volunteers for an overnight sleep on the streets of Chicago. The event will have volunteers spending a cold, winter night out in the street, armed with little more than a tent and a sleeping bag. The initiative will raise money and awareness of the challenges the homeless face on a daily basis.

“We are thrilled to have Hope lead us through the next major phase of our organizational life,” said JD Miller, President of the Board of Directors.
