Infinite Leap Expands and Extends Managed Services Agreement with Wake Forest Baptist Health for Real-Time Location Systems

Building on the significant results from the Enterprise Visibility program, a nationally recognized academic medical center and healthcare system expands the use of real-time technologies to other medical facilities and new uses.

Winston-Salem, NC, January 17, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Infinite Leap - the premier healthcare consultant and systems integrator for real-time technologies, has signed an extension, through 2023, of its managed services engagement with Wake Forest Baptist Health, a nationally recognized academic medical center and healthcare system. This new contract builds upon an existing agreement for Real-Time Location Systems (RTLS) first awarded to Infinite Leap in 2012.

As part of the agreement, Infinite Leap will continue to deliver day-to-day operational management, technical support, and provide ongoing process improvement utilizing the real-time infrastructure, ideation and innovation, as well as ensuring that the derived value is documented against established key performance indicators across more than 50 RTLS-enabled programs. Most importantly, the management of the RTLS program by Infinite leap ensures that Wake Forest Baptist is able to depend upon the RTLS infrastructure to streamline the management of mobile medical equipment, optimize patient flow, and enable staff to spend more time with patients.

Wake Forest Baptist’s Enterprise Visibility program currently encompasses more than 4 million square feet across 40+ buildings with RTLS coverage. The program is recognized as one of the largest and the most comprehensive implementations of RTLS technology, in healthcare, anywhere in the world. The program includes:

16,000 assets tracked in real time
1,100 automatically monitored temperature units
5,000 patients per week using RTLS badges for enhanced patient experience
7,600 staff experiencing a safer work environment by wearing location badges
11 systems, including Epic electronic health records, augmented with real-time data via integrations
more than 100,000,000 real-time events processed each day

While partnering with Infinite Leap, Wake Forest Baptist has achieved sustainable operational, safety, and satisfaction outcomes, with a validated financial return of more than $10 million USD.

“Building on the significant results from the Enterprise Visibility program, we are expanding the use of real-time technologies to our other medical facilities. New uses include wayfinding, inpatient visibility, and patient mobility,” said Conrad Emmerich, Senior VP Business Services at Wake Forest Baptist Health. “We are very pleased with the many ways RTLS has helped enhance our operational efficiency, patient experience and quality of care, and the ways Infinite Leap has made the program work to meet our needs. I think we are still just scratching the surface of what can be accomplished with these innovative technologies and look forward to our continued partnership with Infinite Leap to drive even more process improvements that the technologies enable.”
