New Atlantic Constructing Two Schools for Iredell-Statesville Schools

Winston-Salem, NC, February 01, 2019 --(PR.com)-- New Atlantic was selected as the general contractor, along with Moseley Architects, for these 2 new schools for Iredell-Statesville Schools. Statesville, NC has seen a steady growth in their population over the years and Mooresville, NC, has seen rapid growth in their population due to its strong connection to the Charlotte-Metro area.

The new Third Creek Middle School in Statesville will receive students that now attend the Statesville Middle School that is in need of extensive renovations. Currently, Statesville Middle is not conducive to the current middle school student population. Students’ classrooms are on different floors, and some have to walk outside during class transitions in inclement weather; this poses supervision and safety issues. The new Third Creek will solve a lot of these issues and will be on the same campus as the Third Creek Elementary School. The planned capacity is for 600-650 students, with a plan to be able to expand to a capacity of 800 in the future.

Currently, the Brawly Middle School serves 700 students but was designed for a capacity of 600. To meet the current demand there are 3 modular classrooms, so the need for the new Woodland Heights Middle School in Mooresville is a must. Moving the Brawley Middle students to a new school will allow the growing Mount Mourne IB School to move into the old school. The new Woodland Heights will have a capacity of 800-850 and the campus is more centrally located on the campus.
