“Joy Ride” premieres new work by Marla Hansen in collaboration with world famous artist, Saul Bernstein that will be a dramatic pas de deux performed to the music of Apocalyptica featuring vocalist Nina Hagen.

The beauty and power of the human body, combined with the rich visual imagery evoked through the music, is the inspiration for Saul's painting. The experience of seeing the dance and the painting grow together is not one you will want to miss.

Marla will also premier another work featuring the entire company performed to the incredible music of Nik Bartsch's Ronin. Packed with dynamic contrasts and fascinating partnering, this piece entitled "Catch" will put you in another world.

Carl Rowe presents his newest work to a commissioned original score by Boise composer, Jim Cockey.

The music will be performed live on stage by the Lagroise Trio. Showcasing Boise talent will be an exciting, enthralling experience for all the audience members. Loosely inspired by Homer's "The Odyssey", this dance looks at the universal themes of journey, labor, illicit love, and homecoming. Rowe's second dance on the program will be a definite joy ride with exuberant dancing to intriguing percussion sounds.

Company dancer Yurek Hansen presents his newest work as well. Experience excitement and athleticism as Idaho Dance Theatre completes its 19th season. It promises to be an outstanding program featuring Idaho’s finest dancers and artists. Don’t miss this exciting show.
