)-- The Women’s Business Council – Southwest (WBCS), recently named FIRST SIGNS Graphic Solutions as the Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) Rising Star, an award recognizing a newly-certified WBE who has demonstrated the highest degree of support for and involvement with WBCS as a new member. The 2019 WBCS award winners were unveiled at the annual Parade of Stars Awards Gala on January 31st in Dallas, Texas.
“We are honored and humbled by this recognition. This award is validation that we are taking our company in the right direction.” – Indu Sanka, CEO
Within two months of being certified as a Women’s Business Enterprise, Indu Sanka, CEO of FIRST SIGNS Graphic Solutions, began doing business with other WBEs and sourcing other WBEs for their business needs. The projected sales numbers from the past few months have seen close to a 20% increase from these partnerships alone. While only in the first year of membership, Sanka has given back to WBCS as a volunteer and sponsor.
“Congratulations to FIRST SIGNS Graphic Solutions on winning the WBE Rising Star Award,” said Debbie Hurst, President of the Women’s Business Council – Southwest. “In just a short amount of time, Indu Sanka has become an asset to the Council and we appreciate her ongoing support to our mission of growing women-owned businesses.”
