Legendary Group WAR to Perform at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino on Friday, Dec. 6

Dover, DE, March 20, 2019 --(PR.com)-- WAR, the multi-platinum-selling funk group that has blended its unique harmonies, multiple musical genres and message of brotherhood for almost five decades, will perform at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino’s Rollins Center on Friday, Dec. 6 at 9 p.m.

Tickets will go on sale Tuesday, March 19 at noon, and can be purchased by visiting doverdowns.com. Ticket prices range from $35-$55.

WAR has sold more than 50 million records since its formation in 1969. WAR’s seven Billboard Top 10 hits, and 12 Top 40 hits, include the timeless classics “Why Can’t We Be Friends,” “Low Rider,” “The World Is A Ghetto,” “The Cisco Kid,” and many more.

The band’s albums “Greatest Hits,” “Eric Burdon Declares WAR,” “The Best of WAR and More…,” and “WAR Live” have received platinum and multi-platinum certifications.

Seven of WAR’s albums have reached Gold status, including “All Day Music” (1971), “The World Is a Ghetto” (1972), “Deliver the Word” (1973), “Why Can’t We Be Friends” (1975), “Platinum Jazz” (1976), “Galaxy” (1977) and “The Music Band,” (1979).

Former President Barack Obama recently said he had “All Day Music” on his summer playlist, just the latest example of WAR’s influence being felt in modern times. Among the artists who have sampled WAR’s music in recent years are Kendrick Lamar, Janet Jackson, Flo-Rida, Korn and the Dave Matthews Band.

In 2018, WAR was named a Top 10 concert by LA Weekly and the group has been honored twice by the City of Los Angeles for its community involvement.
